Structural Design
We provide complete structural engineering design and drafting services for small to medium sized projects in the Residential, Urban Development & Subdivisions, Civil Infrastructure, Commercial, Retail and Light Industrial sectors. Some of the most requested designs include, but are not limited to the following structures:
- House detailed structural design and certification for CC or CDC
- All types of retaining walls, such as reinforced concrete, core-filled blockwork, concrete sleeper, sandstone log
- Reinforced concrete structures such as slabs, footings, piles, pavements
- Steel and timber framed structures
- Light pole or mast footings
- Retail and commercial fitouts, such as framing, hanging ceilings, architectural fixtures
- Pedestrian bridges, walkways, viewing decks and platforms
- Above ground steel storage tanks
- Below ground concrete storage tanks
Structural Inspections
Structural Engineering Inspections are undertaken periodically during construction of our projects in Sydney, at the request of the governing authority (e.g. Council). This is to ensure that structures are constructed to our design specifications. Minor rectification works may sometimes be required, to be completed by the contractor prior to us certifying that the finished works.
Some examples of typical structures and/ or hold points required to be inspected prior to certification, are as follows:
- Concrete structures - Inspection of steel reinforcement and formwork in place, prior to any concrete being poured
- Steel or Timber framing - Inspection of completed framing, prior to covering up with cladding or insulation
